History, Culture, Hiking - Day 6
Day 6 - Hike to the Southern Summit of Aragats or a Rest Day at the Lake Sevan
On this day, we offer you the choice between a hiking to Mount Aragats or a relaxing rest day at Lake Sevan. The final decision will be made collectively as a group.
Option 1: Mount Aragats is an extinct volcano. It consists of four peaks. Its Northern summit (4,090 m) is the highest point of the Lesser Caucasus and Armenia. We will hike the Southern peak (3887.8 m) from Kari Lake (Stone Lake). The beauty of the lake is greatly accentuated by the surrounding alpine meadows, various flowers, mountainous fresh air and by the view of the snowy peaks of Aragats. This hike begins at an altitude of 3,250m above sea level.
Hiking distance: 12 km
Option 2: Lake Sevan, located in Armenia, is one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world, situated at approximately 1,900 meters above sea level.
